Feadship is founded by two families, De Vries and Royal Van Lent, and has three shipyards in Aalsmeer, Makkum and Kaag and one design and engineering center, De Voogt Naval Architects.
After World War II the market for the previously successful industry was left in ruins. Even after four years of peace, there remained little money or inclination in Europe for ordering pleasure yachts. Encouraged by the Dutch government's export incentives, Royal Van Lent Shipyard, De Vries Scheepsbouw and four other yards decided to set out their stall for the thriving American market.
The man behind this move was naval architect Henri de Voogt. The name Feadship - the First Export Association of Dutch Shipbuilders - was considered to be an innovation. It made the fledgling group sound like it was Dutch shipbuilding, an important distinction in a market where image was crucial. Yet recognition of the very real skills on offer was not long in coming. The New York Boat Show of 1951, for which several yachts were packed up and shipped across the Atlantic, proved a breakthrough. The Americans were amazed at Feadship's use of steel - an almost unheard of phenomena at this time stateside, a specialty in the Netherlands since the 1930's.
Orders began to flow for yachts in both steel and aluminum; by the mid 1950's, Feadship stopped building in wood altogether. This move led to the first decrease in group membership, although it was only in 1966 that a convergence of factors was to finally leave the big three piloting the Feadship course together.
The 60's as a whole witnessed steady growth - both in the organization's reputation and the size of the vessels it built. 85-90 ft, 100-110ft, 120ft with fully-raised wheelhouses, trans-Atlantic capabilities; various milestones in construction history were reached and surpassed. By the early 70's however, Feadship's popularity had greatly increased, with several yachts being launched each year (see list below).
As the American economy boomed, Henry Ford and Malcolm Forbes were but two of a host of famous folk to take advantage of Feadship's almost unique offer - to design and build a completely custom-built yacht, one with proven performance to match.
In 1977, a separate entity was established in the US in place of the customary representative agent. Don Kenniston was Feadship America's first general manager, a position he still holds today. His early tenure coincided with an enormous increase in trans-Atlantic sailing, a period which confirmed Feadship's rise to global prominence. Asked what sort of yacht they owned, "a Feadship" was now the reply: Slowly and subtly, the name had become a corporate identity in its own right.
The 1984 decision to open an office in Antibes and work together on a worldwide basis was suitable recognition of decades of cooperation. Feadship has gone through a time of continuous, market-driven progress. Ever-more specialized facilities - including two vast dry docks - support a group philosophy of constantly raising quality standards. Offices abroad back up an after-sales service network. A root and branch efficiency drive in the early 1990's produced streamlined management procedures.
With over 200 Feadships gracing the world's oceans, a commitment to supplying total reliability has clearly paid off. On average five major craft are launched annually, and Feadship is acknowledged as global leader in the construction of premium quality displacement motoryachts.

AB Yachts
Fipa Group, builder of AB Yachts and Maiora Yachts, was founded in 1981 by Francesco Guidetti and his wife Mirna Santucci on a property handed down over time from the Gudetti family. In 1985, Fipa purchased the Mairoa brand of yachts, founded at the start of the 1970s. Mairoa’s yachts were well known to Fipa due to a collaboration dating back many years. In 1989, FIPA expanded its original Massarosa facilities to the Viareggio harbor when they purchased the historic Intermare Naval Shipyard, allowing them to increase the size of Maiora yachts up to 105'.
In 2001 more facilities were developed in Massa, North of Viareggio, where FIPA now produces motor yachts between 96' and 150'. This new line of unique, open-style sport cruisers is AB Yachts, a worldwide leader of large jet yachts, with a line ranging between 55' and 140'. AB Yachts produces “open” style boats ranging from 56’ to 140’. This choice to venture into the open boat sector was not by chance. Fipa’s policy of specialization with youthful, dynamic and sporting lines, where speed and technology are key factors, is an important factor in setting them apart from the competition. In 2007, AB launched their largest high speed, open yacht to date; the AB-140 with was met with great enthusiasm by the world’s yachting press and elevated the AB Yachts name into the new millennium. Today, the Fipa Group one of the most active yards in the Viareggio area, producing over 30 yachts per year and recovering or servicing boats up to 150'.

SEALINE
Brunswick Corporation of Chicago, the world's leading manufacturer of pleasure boats, paid $68 million for Sealine International, a privately held British boat maker. Brunswick, which also makes bowling alleys and pool tables, plans to use Sealine as a launch pad into Europe, the world's ...In the week of my visit, the range of tide at St. Helier, the principal port on the pretty island of Jersey, was about 24 feet. An unsettling moonscape of jagged rocks would appear slowly, twice a day, as the water receded—and then just as slowly disappear again as the tide came in. For boat owners unused to displays of nature’s worryingly sadistic tendencies, such tides concentrate the mind wonderfully, especially as the rocks in question look particularly hard and unforgiving.Locals took pride in reminding me that this, of course, was nothing—mere neaps. At spring tide, they pointed out with an evil glint in their eye, you could add another six feet to what I was seeing, and on the really big tides in spring and autumn, the range routinely spans 35 feet or more. All of which makes you wonder. Jersey, in the UK’s Channel Islands off the north coast of France, is one of Britain’s most popular boating centers. Thousands of local boats ply these waters, and each summer they are joined by thousands more from England’s south coast, about 90 miles to the north, and from France, just over the horizon. These boaters are either particularly skillful or extremely lucky, but they make it look easy.Ironically, this made Jersey an appropriate place for Sealine to launch its new T60 motoryacht. For this is a boat whose designers have burned the midnight oil coming up with features intended to make the business of cruising easier. There are the usual Sealine features, of course, like the easily stowed bimini top and cockpit canopies, the nifty little knobs that control the blinds in the saloon, the hydraulically activated swim platform that allows a tender to be simply floated on and off its chocks, and, of course, the electrically extending cockpit, where the whole transom slides aft to provide extra space for entertaining. But then there are the other features—loads of them. Take the engine controls. Twin Disc’s off-the-shelf Power Commander allows the helmsman to select a variety of electronic options: “troll,” which governs shaft speed down to as low as 50 rpm for very precise close-in maneuvering; the all-purpose “express,” which provides a low 130 rpm at the shaft at the first detent—equivalent to a five-to-one gearbox reduction—and then allows exceptionally smooth power take-up all the way to full throttle; and “cruise,” which is all most boats offer in the first place.Down inside, the designers have thought hard about the way people use cruising boats. Sealine always keeps families in mind, whether it’s in the company’s 24-footer (not exported to the United States) or this big, new flagship, and families usually bring with them a lot of gear and lots of people. The question is always where to put everything and everyone. So the T60’s third cabin, which would be great for kids, has three standard berths and a fourth if you want it with two berths down, one up, and a fold-down Pullman. In other words, the boat can sleep eight with no one camping in the saloon, and each cabin has its own en suite head.
Mangusta Yachts (Overmarine)
Mangusta Yachts by Overmarine produce very fast and stylish luxury open style performance motor yachts. Often seen in the French and Italian Rivieras, these luxury motor yachts are characterised by sleek length, open bridge style, powerful engine plants and superior speed. Mangusta comes under the larger umbrella of the French superyacht Rodriguez Group. The Overmarine shipyard actually handles the building of Mangusta yachts and this yard is based in Viareggio, Italy.
Mangustas have a length between 72 feet and 165 feet and they can reach speeds in excess of 50 knots, with a cruising speed of over 30. This is very fast for yachts as large as this and indeed very fast for a yacht of any type that is not made specifically for motor racing. The Mangusta open line features the work of designer Andrea Bacigalupo and both the Rodriguez Group and Overmarine are involved in the advanced technology, design, styling and state of the art construction.
The Mangusta 72 and 92 are superb motor yachts in their class and they offer amazing speed and style. The 108 Mangusta yacht was the largest production series sport cruiser available at one time however the 135 and 165 foot (pictured above) have now taken over. The complete Mangusta range includes the 72, 80 hard top, 105, 108, 130, 148 Oceano and the 165’ flagship.
The Mangusta 165’ is set to become an important yardstick in the yachting world and in the words of the chairman of the Rodriguez Group, Gérard Rodriguez: “The Mangusta 165’ is an exceptional yacht which holds several world records, including that of the largest Open series yacht in the world.”
Often seen in St Tropez, France and Porto Cervo, Sardinia and other glamorous hotspots, Mangusta are very popular day yachts and inshore charter yachts along the French and Italian Mediterranean coast. Now with their larger size they are becoming much more than simply day yachts.
FERRETTI
Last October The Ferretti Group’s display at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show was a thriving affair. A maze of slips flaunted the broad, stylish spectrum of the corporation’s holdings—retro runabouts, advanced express cruisers, decked-out sportfishermen, and beguiling motoryachts. Every vessel had a pretty face stationed on the stern, and the tented areas swarmed with an army of bright young things eager to sing the fleet’s praises in Italian-accented superlatives. What’s more, on one side of the exhibit there was a cafe where you could get an espresso “corrected,” as they say in San Giovanni, with a splash of grappa. It was amid this glitzy hubbub that I met with Andrea Frabetti, head of nautical engineering for the group. The subject of our tete-a-tete was Ferretti’s new 76, unveiled last fall at another suitably glamorous yachting hub, Cannes. But although it was impossible to discuss the yacht without touching on her comely looks, the core of our discourse was devoted to technical matters: We examined the 76 from an engineer’s point of view.On this yacht Ferretti has made significant modifications to a hull form already proven to perform well on existing models in the builder’s line. Ferretti’s fundamental goal regarding the hull has always been to combine performance standards such as speed, range, and economy with a ride that is smooth, quiet, and graceful. The first half of this equation is not hard to determine during the design stage through tried and true calculations and tank-testing. But effective means of predicting the latter have only recently been developed. Using Computerized Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software to foresee how the pressure of the water would be distributed over the hull’s surfaces, Ferretti engineers were able to fine-tune the 76’s design to enhance the ride. The shape of the wake a hull creates is important for onboard comfort. A wake that runs too close can make for a wet ride and can create noise that carries through the vessel. With CFD simulations Ferretti can identify specific forms on a hull that aren’t distributing water properly and change them. “We modify the design of the hull in order to model the wake, to give the wake the right shape,” says Frabetti. Thus, for the well-being of its clients, the Italian builder sculpts the sea.In addition to an optimum hull form, Ferretti engineers have developed other design standards that contribute to the right balance of speed, range, and comfort on the 76. Engine installation and engine room and systems layouts have been especially well devised.Coupling the 76’s twin 1,300-hp MAN D2842-LE 404s to V-drives allows Ferretti to locate the engine room farther aft. In addition to increasing below-decks living space, this contributes to noise control. Because bearings that keep propeller thrust from the engines are integral to the V-drives’ design, Ferretti can set the MANs on soft, vibration-isolating mounts that greatly reduce structure-borne noise. Placing the fuel tanks athwartships just forward of the engine room further insulates living areas from sound. And since the tanks rest at the hull’s center of gravity, trim is less affected by varying fuel levels, and the consistency of the yacht’s performance underway is enhanced. Frabetti says the MAN diesels deliver a 27-knot cruise and bring the yacht to a maximum speed of 30 knots. A 1,585-gallon fuel capacity is said to provide a cruising range of more than 400 NM.The 76’s technical layout also considers quality of life at rest. All pumps, air-conditioning handlers, and other auxiliary equipment have been organized well aft, just below the transom. With the boat on anchor or at the marina, their operation should register as little more than a murmur.
Bank Repossessions
If you want to purchase a motor yacht that is far beyond your budget then there is no need to fret and disappoint your wishes. There are many financial institutions such as the banks and the private lenders of money that can help you out of the problem. You can avail the required sum of money as loan and can thus fulfill your desire to possess your dream home.
Once you have availed the loan and purchased and furnished your motor yacht, it is very important that you keep your dues clear, i.e., you keep paying the monthly installments of the loan you received from the bank. If you fail to make your due payments then you can dread bank repossessions of your dream motor yacht.
As the name is very much indicative of the meaning, bank repossessions happen if you are unable to make your monthly installments of the capital you were loaned successfully or fail to repay a number of consecutive payments. In such a case, the bank has the right of repossession of the property you purchased from the money bank loaned you with.
Before the actual happening of the bank boat repos the bank notifies you of the same and gives you a specified time-period to arrange for the money that is due and thus make your supposed payments. If you are still unsuccessful in making the payments, then the bank is left with no choice but to proceed with their bank repossessions. Bank repossessions can be very well avoided and handled if you keep your calm and wits intact. That is, when you receive the notice for bank repossessions you must never panic but should act wisely and as early as possible. First and foremost, you should contact the bank and inform them of the current state of your finances and avoid your boat from becoming a repo boat.
You can negotiate with them and either ask them to reduce the minimum sum of money that you need to pay in order to keep your BOAT or to increase the time-limit they have given you for the purpose of bank repossession. If you can get the time-period increased, your bank repossession will be delayed and therefore you will get some more time to think over the matter and how you need to tackle it.
If you want to avoid a REPOSSESSED BOAT all together, then it is always better to keep in active communication with the bank and keep them updated about your fiscal status. If ever you feel that the payments are a little tough to handle, you can ask the bank to reduce the amount of your monthly installments so that you can successfully manage to repay them. This will also save you from the embarrassing situation of bank repossessions
REPOSSESSED BOATS
Finding repossessed boats for sale can be one of the most profitable things you can do to find the top fishing boats without spending a fortune. The majority of people try and avoid repossessed items, simply because they think of low quality, but the reality is that an item that is being repossessed says nothing about it's overall quality.
It's simply being done because the owner couldn't pay their bills, whether they be a loan or mortgage, and the bank or bankruptcy court then takes the item to sell it and therefore use that money to pay off their creditors. Obviously, the bank doesn't want to keep boats, cars, and other items it often is forced to liquidate.
This is why there is so much opportunity for people shopping for these boats, because since these institutions are in such a hurry to sell them, you can often times find dirt cheap prices, and save a bundle versus even buying a used one from a private owner. If you want the biggest savings possible, you will look into repossessed boats for sale, as no other way offers you these savings opportunities.
The reality is, however, they can be hard to find. There are websites that sell repossessed boats, but you usually need to pay a monthly fee in order to see the boats for sale, something most people are not willing to do. However, if you pay this, you can expect to get big savings, so keep this in mind.
If you are serious about finding repossessed boats, I'd recommend you join one of these sites versus going to your local bank auction, because even though the local auctions are free, you don't get nearly the selection you would online. The reason is that the boats they show are nationwide, and therefore your range of choices is virtually unlimited.
Make sure, however, before you pay anybody a monthly fee to access their listings, you know about the company doing so. Many companies online in this industry have developed a reputation as scamming customers and not giving them any return for their money, so make sure you read reviews of them on the internet if you are even thinking about paying them money.
Many sites will review them, and often times, people who've paid them themselves will tell you their experiences so that you can know what to expect, and in this way you can find the best sites and avoid the duds.
Make sure you also know how the pricing is agreed upon, whether it be an auction or buy it now or best offer format. If you aren't comfortable with auctions, I'd recommend you avoid these sites, but the reality is, you can save the most amount of money with auctions, when you know what you're doing.
They do take some time to master, admittedly, but if you can perfect your auction buying skills, you can really save a bundle when buying your next boat, car, or anything else. Repossessed boats for sale should certainly be at the top of your list when shopping for a new car, and if you haven't at least looked at these listings, I'd highly recommend it.
There are many ways to fulfilling your dream of owning a powerboat. Not every one can buy a new boat outright and few people can even afford to have a powerboat financed by a bank or financial institution, simply because the risks are many and guarantees too few. So if you cannot go in for a new boat then what are the other ways you could realize your dream of owning a boat? There is the used powerboat market, but even that could be out of your budget, there are the powerboat repo auctions that could land you a fabulous deal of a lifetime. Boat auctions are not as few and far between as many people would have you believe. The crux of the matter is knowing when the power boat repo auctions are going to be held and where. It is not like they are a regular feature on ever colander. Many powerboat repo auctions are mentioned as advertisements or news items in the papers many are kept a secret till the last minute. This is because the people who know about it and want to bid would like the least competition they can get at the auction. So you will have to follow every bit of information about power boat repo auctions if you want to get the best deal on a power boat, because this is the one place you could make a steal, as the saying goes. If you have some contact in the marine bureaus or someone that works on the docks you could be intimated on the next powerboat repo auction and the kind of boats that are going under the hammer. Marinre bureaus usually auction powerboats that they recover for non payment of dues among other reasons. Government agencies such as the coast guard and insurance agencies apart from financial institutions are also a good place to find some good deals on boat auctions. These agencies recover boats that have either been claimed by insurance or banks due to non payment of installment dues. Boats from Repo auctions can be purchased for some very good prices. Then there are the omnipresent Internet search engines where you can get a lot of information about powerboat repo auctions. Even then if you do manage to find a good auction there are a few thing s to keep in mind. Many auctions have a set of rules and start with a reasonable bidding price. The price will be driven by the crowd, the type of boat and the auctioning agency. So do not expect miracles at the auction. Never base your bid on your fantasy for owning a powerboat. You should bid with due diligence and also do your research about the boat you want to bid on. Attend the repo auction preview before the auction. Have a close up look at the boats that are gong to be auctioned then decide which boat you would like to bid on. Examine minutely the various aspects of the boat like the cost of repair if any, and the cost of paper work like registration and taxes. Then decide on a maximum amount you will bid and hope for the best.
When a boat owner defaults on his loan, the bank hires www.theyachtcorporation.com to seize its property.they track the boat down in a backyard or a marina or a garage and hauls it to his storage area and later sells it off. . “Boating was traditionally the pastime of the well-off, but the long housing boom and its gusher of easy credit changed that. People refinanced their homes and used the cash for down payments on a cruiser, miniyacht or sailboat. From 2000 to 2006, retail sales for the recreational boating industry rose by more than 40 percent, to $39.5 billion, while the average loan amount more than tripled to $141,000. Last year, as real estate faltered, the gears went into reverse. The number of boats sold fell 8 percent. Many boats are fuel hogs, and rising gasoline and diesel prices meant a weekend jaunt could cost hundreds or even thousands of dollars. Owners found they could not sell a boat for what they owed and could not refinance either. The solution for some is simply to stop paying on Jersey Dreamin’ or Just Do It or Bally Hoo. Then one day they come home and it is gone. Repossessedmotoryachts, has a team of mature professionals with many years in the business. The business usually slacks off in the spring as the boating season begins and delinquent owners try to fend off the bank long enough to have some fun. Not this year. repossessedmotoryachts, is repossessing nearly a boat a week, most from the Mediterranean area but a few farther afield. Boat loans, like car loans, give the bank permission to recover its collateral in the case of default, which explains why a repo man can go into a yard without technically trespassing. Nevertheless, the custom is to get in and get out before the owners, neighbors or authorities notice anything amiss
NY Times: "Times Are Tough, Except in the Repo Biz"
Just between you and I, you know, being a Repo Man is not something I'd want to do. Whilst there'd definitely be something soul-satisfying about repossessing a yacht named "Bally Hoo," the threat of violence and/or gunfire from Downtrodden Dave and Misunderstood Mary as I absconded with their stuff — the bank's collateral — well, it just doesn't suit my personality.
The guys who do this gig — and I've run into a few of 'em over the years — are a different breed. They tend to be burly, determined, and gruff. And they wear ill-fitting Grateful Dead t-shirts.
Truly, I dig this. We hear about this uber-consumer, a guy by the name of Robert Dahmen, whose silly spending contributed mightily to the Bush Economy. "He is one of the millions of reasons the consumer-powered American economy did so well for most of this decade," we're told, "and one of the reasons its prospects look so bleak now."

Astondoa Yachts
Astondoa Yachts benefit from a company philosophy of combined passion, experience, solidity, technology and design. A company founded in Spain in 1916, Astondoa owns three facilities that cater to the size of the yacht being produced. There are three ranges of the yachts: open range, middle overall, and big crafts. The facility at Viscaya is responsible for the 40-foot open sport model of Astondoa. In Almansa, yachts are created from 35 to 54 feet in length, while the Santa Pola location makes the larger lines of Astondoa yachts, from 57 to 122 feet in length. Quality control is of utmost importance during Astondoa yacht production and assembly at each of these facilities. Astondoa also pays much attention to the latest in both computer and process technology, ensuring effective and reliable yachts.
WALLY YACHTS
Founded by wealthy Italian businessman Luca Bassani in 1994, Wally started out primarily as a sail boat design firm and have more recently branched out into designing cutting edge motor yachts[2], one of the most noteworthy to date of these power boats is the 118 WallyPower[3]. Wally's sailboats and motor yachts range from the recently introduced Nano 11-metre day sailer/racer through the 24-metre range, and often exceed 30 to 60 metres in length[4].
Wally is considered [5] to be one of the premier yacht builders, noted for its unique blend of stylish, sleek, minimalist design, power and comfort. Celebrities owning a Wally include Gianni Agnelli, Juan Carlos I of Spain, Marco Tronchetti Provera, and Lindsay Owen-Jones.
In March 2008, Wally unveiled its new luxury megayacht WallyIsland. At 325 feet long, it is one of the largest yachts in the world.[6]
In 2009 Wally & Hermes joined to create WHY-YACHTS (Wally-Hermès Yachts) which is dedicated to a new lifestyle of living on the sea
Canados Yachts
Canados Yachts
Canados is an acronym in the yachting business for CAntieri NAvali Di OStia (Ostia shipyards). The shipyard started operations in November 1945 building military boats and than decided to specialize in leisure yachts. The founders of Canados made history in the boat-building business in Italy by being at the forefront of the technological improvements applied to leisure yachts. Since the incorporation of Canados, Ostia became one of the ‘hot-spots’ for boat building in Italy and skilled labor continued to grew rapidly as the years went by. Now days all the skilled expertise needed for yacht building is available in Ostia and in nearby Fiumicino. The Company has changed hands only twice, the last of which was in the year 2000. This had enabled Canados to keep up with the same good standard and reliability that has become synonymous with their acronym.
The numbers of Canados yachts are indeed impressive. In 58 years, they have successfully delivered more than 500 motor-yachts ranging from 40’ to 120’, more than 150 sailing yachts and several fast boats for the Coast Guard and other military organizations. Canados is located in Ostia, 30 km. west of Rome, on the Tyrrhenian Sea and 7 km. away from Fiumicino International Airport.
TECHNEMAR/RIZZARDI/ITALCRAFT
Italian shipyards impress the true yachtsmen with their excellent design and high-quality finish of each boat.
Lately quite a few shipyards have made up groups of yachting companies. Rizzardi, Posillipo, Italcraft and Diano amalgamated in 2006, when Gianfranco Rizzardi’s passionate hobby and entrepreneuring talents led to the founding of the Inrizzardi group.
Before becoming the owner of the group that is one of the three most prominent European yacht manufacturers, Gianfranco worked in boat repairs and dock maintenance services. In 1974 he decided to start his own business and opened a yacht repair and maintenance workshop near San Felice Circeo (where, according to a Greek myth, sorceress Circe turned Odyssey’s companions into swine).
The workshop expanded and brought considerable profits, but it wasn’t enough for Rizzardi. That’s why in 1978 the first CR yacht (Cantieri Rizzardi) appeared. The new Rizzardi CR 40 had great success at one of the Roman seaboat shows. After the first very exhibition Gianfranco had signed two contracts.
Now the Rizzardi shipyard has six models in the market, the most popular of them the new InCRedible 45. "To have a dream and make it real" – such is the motto under which the new boat had been created. And true, it can be a dream of a real connoisseur of luxury and comfort. The new generation of boats was challenged by a new generation of the Rizzardi family.
Gianfranco’s sons, Corrado and Damiano, students of La Specia naval engineering institute, took part in developing InCRedible and helped to improve the yacht’s design and technical performance. Elegant outlines and soft curves fascinate the viewer at first sight, while comfort and technical perfection make you fall in love with the boat as soon as you see her set sail. Two 730 hp engines allow making a speed of up to 39 knots, which is quite a result for a 45-foot ship.
The shipyard is also going to equip the yacht with an Amerson Surface Drive (ASD) with waterlogged propellers that speed up the boat. After that InCRedible 45 will be able to make the whole 45 knots. The easy-to-operate sports steering wheel won’t let you be confused even at a maximum speed.
Gianfranco Rizzardi’s brand was so successful that it allowed him to significantly expand production. In July 1993 he saved from bankruptcy one of the oldest Italian shipyards, Posillipo, founded in Naples in 1942.
In the early 1960s the company moved to Sabaudia because of significant increase in production capacity. 1974 marks the beginning of the production of a new line – Technema yachts ("a piece of art" in Greek), that later became the shipyard’s trademark product. One of latest models, Technema 95, has been named the best yacht of 2004 at the International Yacht Festival in Cannes. In June 2007 Technema 120 will be launched – she’s the biggest Inrizzardi yacht to date.
In 2001 the group founded a state-of-the-art production facility in Ceracelle. In 2002 it acquired production grounds in Fiumicino, near Rome. In 2003 the company went shares with Cantieri Navali Netter, the biggest shipyard capable of servicing up to 50 medium- and large-sized yachts simultaneously.

In July 2005 the group acquired the famous Italcraft shipyard in Gaeta. The shipyard’s history started as early as 1955. Thanks to the brothers Sergio and Sonnino Sorisio the world had known such yachts as Sarima and Drago. Launched in the 1970s, Drago used to be the fastest in the world serial leisure yacht working on diesel, as well as the first vessel to use the Surface Drive. In 2007 the biggest in the Drago family yacht was launched - Maxidrago 105. Italcraft can also boast its world-famous powerboat, Sarima P1.
In October 2006 group was joined by the youngest and most original Inrizzardi shipyard - Diano. It was in 1980 when Mario Diano founded a maintenance centre, just like Gianfranco Rizzardi did. In two years’ time the first 18-metre-long yacht had been built.
The shipyard’s main peculiarity is that the boat’s hull is made not of glass-fiber but of wood. It brings significant complications into the production process, hence every boat is made to order. Note that at first glance it’s impossible to see that the boat is entirely made of wood, so up-to-date is the look of her. The boat’s performance is impressive as well: for instance, Diano 26 features 1300 hp Caterpillar engines, which allows to make a speed of up to 30 knots.
Gianfranco Rizzardi plans to further expand his business. Though even now Inrizzardi can boast its client base which includes the Middle Eastern and European royalty, as well as prominent industrial magnates from the world over.
But why is the royalty so attracted by the yachts produced at Rizzardi, Posillipo, Italcraft and Diano? It’s most likely that they know that their every fancy will be implemented the best way possible. Each yacht by the Inrizzardi group is semi-custom, which allows the owners-to-be the freedom of creativity: some of them would like a cockpit decorated with rare wood or marble, others want a total replanning of the yacht. And it’s always nice to know that you own a one-of-a-kind product.
As for the models chosen by members of the royal families, these are Technema 95 and Italcraft X54. The former is more suited for those who prefer designer boats (it was designed by the architect Carlo Galeazzi) and long sea cruises. She’s a quintessential megayacht, almost 30 metres long. Technema 95 has fluent outlines and a spacious flying bridge. She’s a "designer home" that meets the owner’s views of perfection. Performance characteristics are also worth a notice: a cruising speed of around 25 knots and a maximum speed of almost 30 knots.
Italcraft X54 is for those who consider the yacht’s technical specifications important. Two 800 hp MAN engines allow making up to 36 knots.
Inrizzardi can truly be named a company for the royalty, and the perks it offers are royal indeed. For instance, the current promotion is as follows: those who buy an over-95-foot yacht get a brand-new Ferrari gratis!
Incidentally, apart from their boats and clients, Inrizzardi takes pride in their Rizzardi Racing Team that takes part in yearly offshore motor yacht races PowerBoar P1 in the Evolution category. In 2000 and 2003 the team won the championship, and in 2001 held a speed record on the Endurance catamaran.
No less important is the fact that, unlike other large company groups, Inrizzardi is not a joint-stock company. It belongs to a single owner which allows red-tape-free solving of all arising issues (yacht modification, price strategy, payment methods and etc.).
